We create content ourselves for our server, that means we need to protect that content and we check twice a week for stolen work. We have an in-house development team that can model, texture, animate, import and script. Below is the process we use and why a DMCA will be issued if our content is found on any other server.

If you want to use anything we have you need to ger permission first, if found with it we will take steps to stop its use. If that means going to court then we will.

The below information is a work through for 1 of our models which took over a month to make. We put a LOT of effort into these models and you can see why we put the same effort into making sure they are not used by others with zero effort put in to something we created for our players.

Blender

Models are created in Blender from scratch which can take anywhere from a few hours to a few weeks to develop.

These models are made as efficient as possible so as much detail is in the model, but the best performance can be achieved.

All our models are thought out and unique to our server. We bake in the server’s name in multiple places for IP protection.

Substance Painter

Models are painted and all normal maps created. This stage takes many many hours to complete and will be revisited multiple times as we test the model, textures and different resolutions to get it right.

Photoshop

Photoshop is used to touch up and alter the images where Substance Painter isnt suited to it.

Object Builder - DayZ Tools

Models are then put together in Object Builder where animations, textures and proxys are applied.

This stage takes a couple days to get right and finalise the model before scripting.

Audacity

Sounds for the items are then created in Audacity which takes a lot of trial end error

Visual Studio Code

Most of the time spent in making models is the scripting.

This can be the model.cft, config.cpp, json files or .c files to make everything work.

What happend if you steal our work

We use various tools and people to track our work across the internet, once we find stolen work we will not ask for it to be removed from your server, we will issue a DMCA takedown instantly

We have sent out over 60 DMCA's and won them all. As we have all the raw files and time stamped work to back these up

If a counter claim is issued as a bluff we will take it to court out of principle, please note there is no way to back out once we accept and instruct our legal team to file the paperwork.

In these cases we will counter sue fo all damages pertaining to defending the case once we win.

This will be in excess of £10,000 as a minimum. People need to think very carfully if this is the route taken.
